My experience

Obstetrics

My experience in clinical Obstetrics is broad, having delivered my first baby in 1986. I have supervised and taken part in childbirths that number in the thousands. I have used varying techniques which are usually dictated by the clinical situation and the woman’s wishes. These techniques include Caesarean section, and Ventouse and Forceps. I have performed Breech delivery and of course numerous normal vaginal deliveries without any intervention at all.

As a senior member of the Birth Unit team at the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth, and in my current private delivery rooms at the Portland Hospital, I continue to have a significant normal delivery rate.

Fetal medicine

I am a skilled Fetal Medicine practitioner and Ultrasonographer. I am currently the Director of the Fetal Medicine at the Homerton University Hospital. I have extensive experience in prenatal diagnosis which includes invasive testing such as Amniocentesis and CVS (chorionic villus sampling). I am also experienced in the use of new technologies such as 3 and 4D ultrasound scanning.

In my practice I also offer and support the use of non-invasive prenatal testing, such as the Harmony test or the Panorama test.

Gyneacology Surgery

My general Gynaecology practice includes the care of women with menstrual difficulties, pelvic pain, fibroids and difficulty getting pregnant.

I am an experienced ultrasonographer and a senior member of the acute and ambulatory gynaecology unit at the Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The ability to carry out Ultrasound scans in clinic enables me provide a one stop gynaecology service.
