I added 6 bearings to the 300D, one to the spool and one under the drive shaft,and 4 to the handle, 2 to each paddle and I replaced the stock steel Level Wind Pawl with a Ceramic one, and Cleaned out the Bearings and relubed them, also polish the inside of the pinion gear and polish the spool shaft and tips and this reel will cast better then my 300 ConQuests
it is still a Shimano and this matters a lot
