The remarkable slope more than 40% favours the perfect ripening of the nebbiolo grapes, which are particularly demanding as regards light exposure and temperatures. The hill is situated in the geologic area dating back to the Serravallian age, but curiously the soil has a moderate limestone content, while it is particularly rich in quartz sand and very fine
