Russia, Soviet Union. An Order of the Red Banner, Type III, Second Award consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac attached by silver metal buttons( ). Instituted 1 August 1924. (1943 1953 issue). Constructed of silver with gilt and multi coloured enamels, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon affixed to a pentagonal backplate with horizontal pinback, the obverse consisting of gilded circular wreath, joined together at the bottom by a red enameled banner bearing silvered Russian Cyrcillic letters , in addition to a white enameled plaque bearing a numeral 2, surrounding a central
